Consuming large amount of cadmium will likely to cause kidney damage, it was found in vegetables and meat. Australia New Zealand Food Auhority(ANZFA) had limit the amount of cadmium concentration in food so therefore to ensure that people will not take in the dangerous level of cadmium. Cadmium are natural mineral which it accumulate in soils and was absorb into crops, the commission are trying to reduce the amount of cadmium in fertiliser, however, the EFMA believes that the climate and variability of soils will affect the accumulation of it in soils.
Technology are also invented to remove cadmium from phosphate rock or phosphoric acid before it was make into fertiliser.
It is our choice to increase cadmium or decrease it, our environment and health depend on us.
